How do you experience Yoga and how has it changed you mind/body/spirit?

 

How has it changed your outlook and the way you interact with people and the world around you?

Yoga has helped me in all aspects of my life.  I am currently on a personal spiritual journey, and really focusing on my soul and myself so that I may experience my time here on earth with optimum grace.  It's helping me deal wth the stresses of work; if someone really drives me nuts I step away and do some breathing.  I've always been one to take 40minutes to sleep at night, and now with breathing and focusing on my breath and body; I can fall asleep in minutes.  Yoga practice maintains my flexibility and a general sense of awareness and well-being. August 2007

What I have achieved from yoga is having a peaceful mind, calmness, energy and the outside beauty look that I love the most (I don't like the fatty hanging around my belly, hiehie :) 

 

Apparently, I have more confidence and self esteem within myself and while interacting with others as well.  Especially, under your teaching technique I have gotten a tone and flexibility body from mental to physical that I desired to be.  I understand it's just a short period of time of practicing yoga with you I wouldn't expect any better than that.  But I can find myself now after four months with yoga that would be something that will adhere with my life for good.

 

I would highly recommend to everyone who is interested or who might not be interested to yoga because yoga would bring peace to everyone in one way or another.  June 2007

Now that I've had time to think about your question, I'm ready to post my reply to: "How have I benefited from yoga, in particular your lessons and method?" The lessons have given me 'me time'. During my yoga lessons I have been able to concentrate just on me, both physically and mentally. As a result, I am more flexible and feel better physically overall. Mentally the lessons have given me more stability to face the hectic lifestyle that comes with raising a family. Also, it has changed the way I consider the people and the world around me. Your small classes and intimate, personal method of teaching have given me a comfortable environment in which to feel confident in exploring and expanding my boundaries. Your warm and engaging personality has attracted a crowd of people that I feel proud to be a part of.  June 07


Thoa:

I enjoy yoga for the challenges it provides my body. The asanas work different parts of my body; and while I'm in those poses, I am reminded that I can never quite perfect them there is always something to adjust, sometimes physical, sometimes mental.

 

I would not say that it has affected my interaction with others, only that it focuses me more during practice. June 07

Sharon and I will be at yoga this afternoon!  We have a school board meeting at 7:00 PM and were not sure if we could squeeze in yoga between work and the board meeting, but we are going to try!!!  We will just need to leave at exactly 6:15 in order to dress and get back for the meeting!  We are enjoying the yoga lessons over email as well!  See you later today!Jan (Mon 5/9/2005)
