    2-hour Forrest Yoga Intensive, with Charmaine van Niekerk 

    Cross Training for Athletes: Balancing Strength and Flexibilty 

     

    Vigorous, demanding, and intensely mindful, each class is designed and sequenced with a specific focus area

     in order to help improve strength, balance, flexibility, and mental focus. You will leave feeling cleansed, awake,

    INSIGHT MEDITATION RETREAT: A Day of Mindfulness with Mary Rees  June 6-7. 2008

    Experiential in nature, this retreat and meditation course welcomes beginning meditators and those already practicing meditation.     Lets Partner ~ THAI YOGA for TWO: With Greg Petitti

     

    Imagine your spine lengthening, your hips opening, your shoulders releasing, all without doing a thing as your partner moves you through a flowing dance of assisted yoga postures on the floor. Come and discover the joy of giving and receiving as you are guided through a healing and relaxing Thai Yoga session with your partner. Be prepared to unwind and enjoy yourself fully!

     

       Wear loose, comfortable clothing.  No prior yoga experience is required.

    Intro to Forrest Yoga

     

    We will be hosting regular Intro to Forrest Yoga weekend workshops for beginners to allow new students to learn the basic yoga postures (anyone new to Forrest Yoga may attend).

     

    Gain a better understanding of the basic yoga postures and their benefits.

    • Using Forrest Yoga techniques and breath awareness you will learn how a mindful yoga practice can give you more energy and help you develop greater strength, flexibility and inner awareness.
    • You will explore the safe and correct way to working each asana.
    • You will learn how to use yoga to address your own unique health issues and personal concerns, as well as how to assimilate the changes you will begin to explore during your weekend commitment into your daily life.

     

    Our mission is to assist you in a time-tested and proven method of personal growth through physical, emotional, and spirit self-realization.

      Yoga for Runners - the next session starts Fall 2008!

      Join Yoga instructor and seasoned Marathon and Ultra-distance runner, for a Vinyasa-styled (breath synchronized) Power Yoga session that will create balance, strength and flexibility for the whole body, while enhancing mental focus. This class is designed to improve your running and athletic performance.

       

      This 12-week session will be held one night each week, starting date TBD. Click here for more details on this event.

       

       

      Partner & Family Yoga is ideal for couples (and their kids), or friends to experience supported yoga together, AND it is great fun! These sessions usually are held once a month on Fridays 7-8:30pm. Pre-register at least ONE week prior to the event. Click for details.

      • September 4th: Labor Day Free Day of Yoga

      The first annual Labor Day Free Day of Yoga, with classes held throughout the Houston area.

       

      • March 2006: The 2nd Annual Yogathon benefit for Multiple Sclerosis

      was held at the Christ United Methodist Church in Sugar Land. The story!

      In support of the Yoga Day USA Celebration, Charmaine offered a FREE Yoga class to beginner and experienced Yogis and their families.
